Why we procrastinate?
為什麼我們做事常會拖拖拉拉,
明明該做些事了,
還掛在FB或LINE上面呢?
Vik Nithy為年輕的企業家,
他以學心理學的背景解釋我們會延宕的原因。
他指出
Procrastination is a really serious problem,
because it's about not being able to bring ourselves
to do the things that we know we want to do.
在於
Not knowing where to start
Dreading the displeasure of doing the task
A fear of failure。
我們之所以會延宕,
是因為我們腦內有爭戰:
...an argument in our heads
between the limbic system and the prefrontal cortex.
(the prefrontal cortex=a higher level part of your brain)
(the limbic system=a more primitive part of your brain)
結果the amygdala又出來攪局 。
(The amygdala is a part of your brain
that controls fear and anxiety
and the fight-of-flight response to threatening )
讓人做不了決定,
心裡焦慮,
壓力又大。
Vik Nithy提出運用metacognition,
"Thinking about thinking"來解決。
可從六方面著手:
1. Plan goals
2. Plan time
3. Plan resources
4. Plan process
5. Plan for distractions
6. Plan for failure
最後他用Napoleon Hill的話勉勵大家,
Don't wait. The time will never be just right.
不要老是想等時機成熟,
心情對了,
才行動。
