(喜劇演員的憂鬱告白)


Kevin Breel,
是個人人眼中的陽光少年。
各方面表現人俱佳,
又是個帶給人歡笑的喜劇演員,
但是在這個演講裡,
他坦承:
I suffer from depression.
(depression=a medical condition that makes you very unhappy and anxious and often prevents you from living a normal life)
他告訴大家,
什麼是真正的憂鬱症:
Real depression isn't being sad when something in your life goes wrong. Real depression is being sad when everything in your life is going right.
他也表達了對憂鬱症的看法:
It's something you live with. It's something you live in. It's the roommate you can't kick out. It's the voice you can't ignore. It's the feelings you can't seem to escape, the scariest part is that after a while, you become numb to it. It becomes normal for you...
Kevin Breel,因為得憂鬱症,曾有自殺的企圖,
他指出
...every 30 seconds, every 30 seconds, somewhere, someone in the world takes their own life because of depression...
如何克服憂鬱症?
Kevin Breel他目前仍然還沒有找到答案。
他勇敢站出來,
希望社會不要再把憂鬱症視為stigma。
(stigman=a strong feeling in society that being in a particular situation or having a particular illness is something to be ashamed of)
他告訴憂鬱症病患:
...you're sick, you're not weak, and it's an issue, not an identity。
個人及社會不要再將得憂鬱症視為「不能說的秘密」,
這樣做,只是延宕醫治的時機。
要做好心理建設:
We're people, and we have problems. We're not perfect, and that's okay.
接納自己,
愛自己,
愛我們真正的自己,
而不是成為別人所期待的樣式。
Kevin Breel呼籲大家
對憂鬱症要建立正確的概念,
若是得了憂鬱症,
也不要再閃躲掩飾,
說出來,
大家相互支援,
社會也要給予接納和關懷。
大家一起來面對心的問題。
