Advanced_2007_December這一期的《彭蒙惠英語》有幾篇文章頗令人深思：
(1) "The Importance of Self-Esteen in Teens"
文章中提到"Low self-esteem in adolescents can cause them to avoid challenging activities, give up quickly and quit or cheat when things aren't getting their way. It interferes their ability to make friends and can increase the risk of depression and suicide."因此父母應注意小孩的學習狀況及情緒。文章並提出Dos and don'ts of esteem-building的指南，告訴父母如何關切子女，如何表示愛與關懷，及應避免的言語及行為。
 (2) "Links in the Chain of Survival"一文則讓我更了解World Vision在烏干達的熱心助人的工作。文中更指出"We must give to keep the chain of survival strong: Lives depend on it."
(3) "A Historian Who Finds the Facts"則是讓我體悟治學應有的嚴謹，並應追求真相。Norman Tutorow的話語讓我很感動：
* I write for primarily for selfish reasons. I have fun doing it. I am absolutely carried away by the stories and the details." 
* "I'm obsessed with being right."  
本期中幾篇有關聖誕節的文章也讓人耳目一新，值得一看。
